OBJECTIVE
Whether you're new to spinning or have been spinning for some time and simply want tips on how to improve your technique, this workshop is for you. At the end of the workshop, each participant will leave with his or her own skein of yarn and the basics of yarn making.

- Spinning wheel parts and maintenance
- Spinning gestures and ergonomics, and fiber-drafting techniques
- Notions of wool preparation (cleaning, carding, combing)
- Breeds and local resources related to wool
- Plying and finishing
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Drop spindle spinning skills an asset

WHAT TO BRING
- Spinning wheel and/or spindle
- Pencil for note-taking if needed
- Your own accessories or fiber for further exploration
The workshop will be given in French with help for english participants.
ABOUT MYRIAM
Myriam originally studied in music and visual arts, and turned to horticulture, agriculture and environmental sciences to perfect her knowledge of the plants that form the basis of her materials of predilection. In 2015, she launched the habi habi project. Specializing in the ecological harvesting and gathering of dye plants for textile dyeing, she has since shared her knowledge with an enthusiastic and growing community, and more recently returned to her research-creation.
