Carding and combing are preparatory steps for spinning that align fibers and make spinning easier. For felting or making wool blankets, carding is essential. Combing aligns fibers even more than carding, influencing the yarn type: worsted or woolen-spun.

Louët hand carders and combs are made from various Dutch poplar woods. These lightweight carders feature a curved back and ergonomic handles for a comfortable grip. To ensure durability, all Louët carder teeth are made from high-quality plated steel wire.

Available with a fine carding cloth of 46 TPI, suitable for a range of medium fibers.
