ABOUT THE COURSE
The objective of the workshop is to provide each student with a roadmap on how to weave on a 4-shafts loom, and to provide them with the steps necessary to start, weave and finish a weaving project on their own.
We'll start with an overview of the weaving process, as well as vocabulary and tools. Then we'll plan a project, measure the warp on a warping board, wind the warp, thread the heddles, sley the reed, and start weaving. The time needed to weave a sample on the second day will depend on how quickly each student needs to set up their loom. To conclude the course, we'll discuss finishing techniques and how to recreate the experience with confidence once the students are at home.
